  • Nature of work:
Bank manager plays a key role in running the branch, managing the subordinating staff and for generating profits.

  • Functions of Other Staff:
Keeping the records of business, personal accounts, installment loans, mortgages or the bank’s own accounts and providing the customer service such as payrolls and inventory accounting.

  • Education/Training:

Banks recruit candidates at two levels----

  • the officer level
  • and clerical level.

The procedure of selection varies with nationalized and international banks.

  • Managers/Officers/Probationary Officers/Clerks
  • Foreign and private banks
  • RBI/State Bank and Associate/Nationalized Bank

RBI -- RBI Services Board conducts an entrance exam for Class I post through an All India examination. Graduates/Post-graduates/CA’s/MBA’s in 21 – 26 years of age group are eligible. Selected candidates are called for interview.

Nationalized Commercial Bank

These banks regularly recruit Probationary officers. Graduate degree holders in any discipline and the age limit is 28 years.
